Dear Colleagues,
We are honored to invite you on behalf of the Serbian Association of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine to participate in the 18th Congress of Physiatrists of Serbia with international participation, held in Zlatibor, at the Congress Center "Hotel Mona" from May 24 – 27, 2018 entitled "Optimizing the Functioning and Quality of Life". I believe that Zlatibor, a mountain of extraordinary beauty, pleasant climate, spacious plains, lush pastures, rich water mountain streams and beneficial winds, with rich cultural and natural heritage in the surroundings (Drvengrad, Šarganska osmica, Andrić Grad) have all the conditions for the successful work our participants.
Zlatibor is a mountain beauty that has been a destination of the rich since the middle of the 17th century, a place of temporary stay of those who, first of all, sought for health, but also for the blessed peace of Zlatibor slopes on which the eyes are resting and the body is full of energy. However, true tourism developed only when a crowned head came to Zlatibor, king of Serbia Aleksandar Obrenović, in 1893. Today Zlatibor is the center of the congress tourism of Serbia and I hope that in the beautiful environment of the Hotel Mona and its new Congress Center we will have all the conditions for the working part of the Congress.
This year's Congress is held at the moment when preparations are underway for the organization of the European Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in Belgrade in 2020. This is a great confirmation of the many years of work and efforts that we have all put together in the affirmation of the Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of Serbia. The Association is a regular member of the International Society of PRM (ISPRM), a member of the European Society of PRM (ESPRM), a member of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) PRM Section and Board and a member of the Mediterranean Forum for PRM (MFPRM).
Our congresses, held every year, traditionally bring together physiatrists, rheumatologists, orthopedists, pediatricians, surgeons, neurosurgeons, neurologists and other members of the rehabilitation team, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, nurses in rehabilitation, defectologists, speech therapists, prosthetists and other expert profiles, with the aim of presenting and exchanging scientific achievements, professional news, knowledge and experiences in order to increase our knowledge in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and improvement of the health of our patients.
All papers or abstracts of papers should be sent by 20 April 2018 according to the propositions of the journal Balneoclimatologia. All papers will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Congress and the Editorial Board of the journal, and approved papers will be prepared for the press as a whole in the journal Balneoclimatologia, which is ranked by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia as a M51 journal.
